The Roads of Emerald City: Urban Eco-Artist Pioneers

By Harold (admin) on February 24, 2012

From Kickstarter: This is another awesome project listed on Kickstarter. The goal of this endeavor is to rehabilitate run down neighborhoods in Kansas City and transform them into a place for learning, art, and sustainable living. The donations for this cause will be used to help with construction costs for the New Education Learning Center and a documentary that covers the process. I’m proud to say that I’m on the board of advisers for the Individual Sovereign University, who is the parent entity behind this project. Please support our efforts to transform neglected neighborhoods into a self-sustaining environment for education, [...]

99% (The Occupy Wall Street Collaborative Film)

By Harold (admin) on December 8, 2011

From: Kickstarter Whether you agree with the tactics of the Occupy Wall Street movement or not, this is an important historical effort to fund. I personally watched some of the eviction action at Zucotti park in New York, live on Ustream. This collaborative project is an exciting idea, that will show what occurred at different locations from multiple viewpoints. On Oct 1, 2011 a few award-winning filmmakers in NY teamed up to make a collaborative film about the Occupy Wall Street Movement.  They called and wrote to their filmmaker friends, and they to theirs.  Soon, there were over 60 people [...]

Jonathan Zittrain: The Web as random acts of kindness

Jonathan Zittrain: The Web as random acts of kindness

By Harold (admin) on December 1, 2011

In this TED video, Zittrain shows that despite the perception of the internet as a cold unfriendly place, the exact opposite can be true. This is a very informative talk about the internet from a voluntaryist perspective. The social dynamic of the internet is a framework that we can use in the world offline. There are untold instances of people helping online in numerous ways, motivated by their own internal passion instead of money. The internet is anarchy, a realm with no rulers where you can choose the information, tools, resources and people to enhance your reality. The ‘crowd’ is [...]

The Living Farm’s Trees for Education

The Living Farm’s Trees for Education

By Harold (admin) on August 9, 2011

From Kickstarter During these unpredictable economic times, being self-sufficient as much as possible is the best way to minimize any negative impact on your livelihood. The Living Farm seeks to teach students sustainable farming techniques, increasing the number of organic farmers in the country. Increasing the number of local farmers is a cause we can all benefit from.   The Living Farm has been raising sheep, pigs, chickens, turkeys, cows, hay, silage, vegetables, and grains for over three [...]

By Harold (admin) on August 8, 2011

This Kickstarter project seeks funding for a hand-built espresso cart that will be open 5 days a week.  They also intend to launch a Co-Op coffee shop in the future with any funds left over. Besides launching a tasty coffee shop, they hope to demonstrate the success a small business can achieve with the cooperative model. By Harold (admin) on August 3, 2011
